In Montego Bay, our private group tour will allow us to tour a local school, get a taste of Jamaican cuisine and tour area highlights. Our local guide, Lindsay, is the ultimate host with vast knowledge and pride for his homeland.
Our first stop on this tour is one that will leave you forever changed. We'll tour a local K-6 school for a glimpse of education in Jamaica. The stark differences in facilities and resources between US schools and Jamaican schools is humbling. The teachers and students are very welcoming and often ask questions about our schools as well. The last time we visited, students proudly performed traditional songs and dances for us. This will be the highlight of your day in Jamaica! Next, our guide will take us to a local restaurant for traditional Jamaican jerk. This experience will take you away from the touristy restaurants for a delicious taste of the island's flavors. The restaurant is the #1 rated jerk restaurant in Montego Bay on TripAdvisor. The meal is included in the price of the tour. We will have reserved seating to skip the lines and save time for our other stops of the day. After lunch, we'll visit the historical St. James Cathedral, and hear the tale of the infamous Annie Palmer as we tour her Rose Hall Great House plantation. Finally, have your cameras ready as we take in stunning views of the Montego Bay area from Richmond Hill Great House located on a hill side overlooking the bay. |
best of Grand Cayman and lunch
True to it's name, this tour shows you the very best of Grand Cayman all in the comfort of our small group tour. This all-encompassing tour begins with a private boat ride to Stingray City, where you'll stand on a shallow sandbar and interact with the stingrays. You'll be surprised at how gentle and friendly these creatures are! This is an amazing experience you won't want to miss and never will forget! The water is approximately 3 feet deep. You are welcome to observe the rays from the boat if you don't want to get in the water.
Once back on land, you'll go to Hell and back, encountering the most eerie and craggy limestone formations. After seeing this, you'll understand how the town got its name. Be sure to get your "Greetings from Hell" and "Hell, Wish you were here!" postcards for friends and family back home. Also included is a stop at the Cayman Island Turtle Farm, where you'll see a variety of sea turtle species, from hatchlings to full-grown breeding adults, and learn some of the natural history of these incredible animals. After you've worked up an appetite, we'll stop at a peaceful section of Seven Mile Beach for an authentic Cayman-style lunch, which includes fish, chicken, rice, potato salad, mixed vegetables, and iced tea or lemonade. Hamburgers and fries are available for children. After lunch, we'll return to the capital of George Town, where you'll have time to shop, visit one of the many rum cake stores, or wander through the historic Heroes Square area, where you'll see the Legislative Assembly, original Town Hall, Town Clock, Courts Building, and Library. |
